Impact Lab with Global Leadership Academy
13 August 2019 - partnerships

The Impact Lab – Take action to the next level!” global event was a 3-day workshop held in Impact Hub Berlin (October 23 – 25, 2018) and hosted 23 participants from 14 countries. It was an opportunity to learn and connect with other members of the Global Leadership Academy (GLAC) Community, passionate about innovation and collaboration.

The call for interest was aimed at members of the GLAC Community from the three existing Community pillars – GLAC Leadership and Innovation Labs, Global Diplomacy Labs and the Transformation Thinkers Network – who have developed change ideas or initiatives individually or in teams. In contrast to previous Labs of the Global Leadership Academy, which all focused on specific issues like inclusive insurances, migration or human trafficking, the Impact Lab was first and foremost action-oriented and specifically designed to further support work and projects tackling the SDGs and to create important cross-linkages among members from the different fields.

Selected community members benefited from intense professional support from knowledgeable facilitators, Flora Rosenow, and Shahed Molvi, who designed and delivered the 3-day workshop in Berlin. The Impact Lab was designed to support participants in reframing the problem they were trying to tackle, in creating persuasive communication with target audiences, potential partners and funders and developing a feasible project plan with specific practical steps that will take each project to the next stage.

Every participant or group that took part in the Impact Lab was offered access to professional 1-1 support provided by expert Impact Hub mentors. The projects that expressed interest received customized 1-1 training including advisory services and on-site coaching on critical fields such as strategy, legal advice, communication or business modeling according to their needs.
